Hui HU, Zhiming CHEN, Zhen JIAO

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2009, Volume 3, Issue 1,   Pages 58-64 doi: 10.1007/s11705-009-0106-8

Abstract: presents an experimental investigation of a novel impinging stream reactor (ISR) with the aim of high mixingThe integral mixing quality in the reactor was measured with the iodide-iodate reaction and showed excellentmixing performance.Based on turbulence theory, it was estimated that the characteristic micro-mixing time was 0.002—0.02The micro-mixing time was related to the segregation index, which was in good agreement with those in

Large eddy simulation of turbulent buffet forces in flow induced vibration

XI Zhide, CHENG Bingde, LI Pengzhou

Frontiers in Energy 2008, Volume 2, Issue 4,   Pages 524-527 doi: 10.1007/s11708-008-0099-x

Abstract: The pressure pulse filter and Smagorinsky sub-grid stress model of the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) are introduced. The fluid field in the annular plenum between the pressure vessel and the core barrel of the1:5 model in the second phase of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant is simulated, and the distribution of the total pressure in the space and time domains is obtained. The results show that the Power Spectrum Density (PSD) of LES from the calculation and the test are in the same quantity order. Thus, the pressure of LES can be a load to stimulate the barrel vibration.
